Hello, I’m Emily Sims — a CMS-focused web developer with a strong design background and a deep passion for creating visually engaging, user-friendly websites.
With a unique blend of technical expertise and creative vision, I specialize in building custom websites powered by content management systems like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and other platforms. My goal is to give clients full control over their content while ensuring the design stays sharp, modern, and on-brand.
What sets me apart is my design-first approach to development. Before writing a single line of code, I focus on layout, flow, and visual storytelling to ensure every site I build is not just functional—but beautiful. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with startups, creative professionals, and small and large scale businesses, helping them turn ideas into impactful online presences. I believe in clean code, thoughtful design, and building with the end user in mind.
When I’m not coding or sketching out interfaces, you’ll probably find me exploring new design trends, testing typography pairings, or fine-tuning the little details that make a big difference.
Personal Life
My hobbies include arts and crafts, training my dog Churro, baking, baseball, hiking, game nights, and movies.
It all started with MySpace (my fellow computer geeks will understand). Over 20 years ago, my first love, HTML, sparked an interest in web and graphic design that I could not escape. Ever since, I have maintained a fierce passion for making the web a brighter, more beautiful place to be.
A curious and avid student, I continuously work on passion projects such as online coding bootcamps, studying additional languages, and learning musical instruments (currrently the piano).
I enjoy supporting my community by volunteering at local animal shelters, assisting the visually impaired on the app "Be My Eyes", and tutoring English.
